Mickey Mouse is a beloved animated character and the official mascot of The Walt Disney Company. Created in 1928 by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks at the Disney studios, Mickey is an anthropomorphic mouse known for his iconic red shorts, large yellow shoes, and white gloves. Over the years, he has become one of the most recognizable and enduring figures in popular culture. Mickey made his initial appearance in a test screening short titled "Plane Crazy," but he officially debuted in the groundbreaking sound cartoon "Steamboat Willie" in 1928. Throughout his career, Mickey has starred in more than 130 films, including notable titles such as "The Band Concert" (1935), "Brave Little Tailor" (1938), and "Fantasia" (1940). While he primarily featured in short films, Mickey occasionally appeared in feature-length movies as well. Ten of his cartoons received Academy Award nominations for Best Animated Short Film, with "Lend a Paw" winning the award in 1942. In 1978, Mickey made history as the first cartoon character to be awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
